1. Degenerative Disc Disease (DDD) Or Spondylosis:

It refers to the gradual deterioration of the disc between the vertebrae. Degenerative disc disease is one of the most common causes of low back pain and neck pain. This disease is very common and mostly affects the lumbar spine (low back), and affects as much as 40-50% of people over the age of 40.

Cervical and Lumbar spondylosis

is a very common condition where there is chronic degeneration of the cervical spines and discs between the vertebrae. This is managed by cervical spine surgery in deteriorated discs or bone spurs are removed and sometimes the gap would be filled by a graft of bone or other implants made of metal combined with bone Fusion surgery which stops the motion of the spine at the level of the degenerated disc. This helps to relieve pain. When joint movement within the spine is contributing to pain, fusing the vertebrae together stops the motion, with the intent of removing the pain. Fusion surgery works best when limited to one or two discs. As we have five discs in the lumbar spine, the un-fused discs take over to provide adequate function of the lower back.An artificial disc can also be inserted into the disc space after removing the entire degenerated disc. 2. Slipped (Herniated) Disk

In this the soft inner portion of the disk protrudes through the outer ring which may compresse any of your spinal nerves.Slipped disks are more common in older adults. Slipped disc is a common term used to refer to a prolapsed disc. This is a disorder when the inner, softer part of the disc bulges out through a weakness in the outer part of the disc. Your doctor may recommend surgery if your symptoms do not subside with conservative treatment in six weeks or if your slipped disk is affecting your muscle function.

Two Types Of Surgeries Are Done:

Keyhole surgery or microdiscectomy spine surgery,

is performed when there is a prolapsed disc in the lumbar region. Surgeon remove the damaged or protruding portion of the disk without removing the entire disk.

Disc replacement

In more severe cases, your doctor may replace the disk with an artificial one or remove the disk and fuse your vertebrae together. This procedure, along with a laminectomy and spinal fusion, adds stability to your spinal. Artificial discs are usually made of metal or plastic-like (biopolymer) materials, or a combination of the two.

3. Spinal Tumors

We use high-powered microscopes in this surgery to help remove even delicately placed intradural tumors. Total Spondylectomy - removal of the entire vertebra is done as a definitive cure for some spinal tumors.

4. Spinal Injuries

Injured vertebrae stabilized by combination of metal screws, rods and plates may be necessary until the bones heal. After surgery patients undergo a rehabilitation program. 1. Knee replacement

We are using the most advanced prostheses including the hi-flex knee which offers 150 degree flexion and Special anaesthetic techniques. We are doing computer-navigated total knee replacement, and minimally-invasive total knee replacement, where patients are put on a Continuous Passive Motion (CPM) machine, It can be a total or partial replacement, depending on how much the joint has deteriorated. All surgeries are performed using minimally-invasive techniques and patients can walk within hours after their surgeries with walkers ,they are encouraged to walk of their own the day after surgery and are discharged 2 to 3 days after surgery
